So you’ve just finished skiing and are wondering what to do with yourself. It’s time to get your apres on. For those who don’t know “apres” skiing are the festivities that ensue after a hard day of skiing. It usually mean going to the bar, drinking some beers, eating some nachos at the Red Lion, and dancing in you ski boots.
Some of our favorite places to go to apres are Vendettas, Pepi’s, and the Lion. Vendettas is an Italian restaurant and pizza bar. Sometimes nothing tastes better than a slice and a cold beer after chowing down on fresh pow all day. If you’re in the mood for some authentic European food (specialize in Austrian food) and cocktails, then Pepi’s has you covered. They offer some of the best Austrian beers and music in the town. The Red Lion has all the classic American bar food, live music, and a surprising amount of cougars ready to pounce on anyone under the age of 35. Their nachos are huge and not to be missed. If the beer infused apres isn’t you thing, don’t worry, Adventure Ridge located at the top of the lionshead gondola is a great place to take the whole family and have a blast. They offer all sorts of fun activities including ski biking, kid snowmobiling, a massive tubing hill, and more. You can finish the evening at one of the two restaurants located at the top of the mountain.
In town activities include bowling or seeing a movie in style at the Solaris Building. Bol is probably one of the nicest bowling alleys in the world. Bol also offers an awesome restaurant and 60 foot bar. The Solaris building is also home to the CineBistro. A high movie theater featuring comfy chair and in theater dining.
For the more outdoorsy type you can go cross country skiing at the Vail golf, snowmobiling at Camp Hale. You can also rent a pair of snowshoes and explore some of our winter trails. Bearcat Stables also offer sleigh rides and dinner for the whole family to enjoy.
There is a lot more to do in Vail than just ski. The town is full fun activities for all ages.
