Ski rental prices vary based on what type of ski you want to rent. Generally most stores offer at least two types of rental packages; sport and demo. Sport skis generally are cheaper and meant for absolute beginners who are learning the fundamentals of skiing and sticking to low angle, groomed terrain. The come in a one design fits most people. Demo skis are the newest skis from the top ski companies. They provide a more custom for fit for each skier and come in a wider variety of lengths, shapes (wide for powder, narrow for turning), different stiffness, and are gender specific. Anyone from a beginner to an advanced skier can use demo skis.
Sport Ski from Vail Sports or any other Vail owned shops cost about $60 a day. At American Ski Exchange they cost much less for the same equipment.
Your ski rental includes skis, boots, and poles. You also get free overnight storage for you skis and poles. Helmets are not included in the package but can be added for $8/day. American Ski Exchange is one of the only stores in town to offer ski clothing.

Buy your tickets at least two weeks in advance! If you wait to buy your tickets til you arrive, they will cost 20% more. Ticket prices vary depending on the time of year, The best way to purchase tickets it to go to Vail's website and buy an Epic (Day) Pass. Vail offers daily passes, multi day passes, and season passes. If you want to get a season pass, make sure to do so before Thanksgiving (Vail stops selling them). Want to ski 5 of 7 days? No problem. There is a ticket package for that.
Skiing not your thing? Vail has many activities and events for the non skier. One great option is to check out Adventure Ridge at the top of Vail Mountain. They have a massive tubing hill, snowmobiling, ski biking, dining and more. Another fun day trip is to go for a snow mobile tour of the Continental Divide or lead a team of dogs on a personal dogsled tour. There are several ice skating rinks around the village and great snow shoeing around the valley. We have tons of world class dining options, music venues, and bars. You can always treat yourself and go to one of our many world class spas!
