Although Pink Vail was canceled this year due to Coronavirus concerns, it is scheduled to make a comeback on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Golden Peak. This will be the event’s 10th anniversary! Pink Vail is one of our favorite on-mountain events to attend. Below are the reasons we love to participate in one of the biggest events on Vail Mountain!
Helping to Raise Money to Combat Cancer
Whether you are registered as an individual or on a team, it is a great way to raise money for a great cause. All funds raised go towards men and women battling cancer – of all kinds – at Shaw Cancer Center in Edwards. This event is also a way to celebrate survivors and commemorate those individuals who have lost their battle to cancer. The money raised goes towards improving patient care and patient programming.
Dressing up in our Pinkest Frocks/Costume Contest
Have an obnoxious Pepto-Bismol pink outfit? Perfect! You are in luck! Dress it up with a pink feather boa and a tutu and you are on your way to first prize. We love working at American Ski Exchange during Pink Vail to see all the incredibly creative outfits make their way up to Gondola One. There have been some incredibly creative group outfits as well! Come on in and show us your best looks! We promise, we’ll be dressed up also! We will also have pink items for sale – in case your outfit is not quite complete!
SKIING/SNOWBOARDING
We work at a ski shop. Skiing and snowboarding is our life and passion. Enough said. Who doesn’t want to be spending a gorgeous day on the slopes?
Live Music All Day
Everyone loves to jam to some tunes on their ski/lunch breaks. Enjoy music all day at the base of Golden Peak!
Prizes for Fundraising Efforts
It is not hard to raise enough money to score some great prizes. If you raise $50 (registration fee [$25 if younger than 12 years old; $35 if 13+ years old] + donation) you receive a Pink Vail knit beanie! The prizes only become more impressive as you raise more money. In the past, the top individual fundraiser prize included: a pair of Head skis, a Helly Hansen gift card, and a lodging certificate. For a list of all awesome prizes and the fundraising benchmarks, check out: https://www.pinkvail.com/faqs
Checkpoint Challenge Drawing
Ski to all five Vail Mountain decks between 10:00am – 2:00pm. Don’t forget to fill out your Pink Vail ticket at each deck and have your credential hole punched. At the end of the day, there are drawings for prizes. If you are one of the lucky winners, the results will be posted the next day (March 28th) at the Pink Vail Headquarters tent in Golden Peak!
Great Way to Volunteer for the Community
It is always a great feeling to give back to our mountain community! Vail Health has several volunteer opportunities available each year! For more information about volunteering: https://www.pinkvail.com/volunteer
