Ask A Local: Best Places to Après Ski in Vail

As any Vail local will tell you, après ski is something we look forward to  after a long day on the slopes. It is a time to unwind, spend time with good  friends, and enjoy a delicious alcoholic beverage with appetizers. After returning  your rental ski/snowboard equipment for the day to American Ski Exchange, go  ahead and take a load off. Here are a list of our favorite après ski places in Vail  Village and in Lionshead. Cheers!

Vail Village:

Best Slopeside Views: Los Amigos

Los Amigos: https://www.losamigosvail.com/

Located at the base of Pepi’s face and Gondola One, Los Amigos has great slopeside views! Grab some nachos and watch the skiers as they cruise down the mountain. There are also a variety of different margaritas to choose from: the jalapeño-rita, skinny señorita, and riva margarita.

Best Live Music: The Red Lion and Pepi’s

Bar & Restaurant

The Red Lion: https://www.theredlion.com/

Pepis: https://www.pepis.com/

These two locales are always hopping with locals and tourists alike. Both have live music regularly. They are great places for large groups of friends to grab drinks and enjoy great music!

Best Mudslide: Bully Ranch

Bully Ranch: https://sonnenalp.com/dining/bully-ranch/

Located inside the Sonnenalp, Bully Ranch has a unique European ambiance. It  is most well-known for its great burgers and delicious mudslides. The mudslides  are my favorite!

Best Sangria: El Segundo

El Segundo: https://www.elsegundovail.com/welcome

El Segundo not only has delicious tacos that change seasonally, but also the  best sangria – red wine and white wine sangria. The deck of El Segundo also  overlooks Gore Creek.

Best Handcrafted Cocktails: The Remedy Bar in The Four Seasons The Remedy Bar: https://www.fourseasons.com/vail/dining/lounges/ the_remedy_bar/?seo=google_local_vai3_amer

The best place for a unique handcrafted cocktail while sitting fireside overlooking  Vail Mountain. My favorites are the – V – (Wheatley Vodka, Lemon, Blueberry, St  Germain, Laurent-Perrier Brut) and Red Sky in the Morning (Maestro Dobel  Remedy Selection Tequila, Pomegranate Reduction, Fresh Orange Juice, Lime).

Lionshead Village:

Best Deck: Garfinkel’s

Garfinkel’s: https://garfsvail.com/

Affectionately referred to as “Garfs” by the locals, Garfinkel’s is a great place to watch a football game and grab a beer. Located steps away from Lionshead Gondola, it boasts an expansive deck. Loosen your ski boots and grab a picnic table on the deck. Enjoy the people watching as you kick back and spend time with good friends!

Best Slopeside Margarita: El Sabor

El Sabor: https://elsaborvail.com/

El Sabor is also located steps away from  Lionshead Gondola. The deck overlooks Vail  Mountain and Gore Creek. Grab a table on  the deck and order some margaritas! They  are the best in Vail! Top that off with some  chips, queso, and salsa and it’s a party!  They also have a wide variety of Mexican  food to choose from. I personally am a fan of  the fajitas, but they also make a mean  cheeseburger.
