American Ski Exchange offers a variety of skis to rent and/or demo. In our arsenal, we carry Rossignol, Salomon, Atomic, Blizzard, K2, Volkl, and Nordica skis. While you’re in town, you should rent skis from us that are made by different companies and made for specific terrain. That way, you can find your perfect match. As a family owned business, we offer packages for daily ski rentals starting at $40/day. That is much more affordable than the corporate owned companies in town whose packages run upwards of $100/day. Think of all the other fun things you could enjoy in town with the cash you are saving on ski rentals….
One of the questions we often hear from customers is, “What type of ski should I rent?” We have the answer for you. Below are a list of skis carried by American Ski Exchange and what ski conditions they should be used in:
All Mountain Skis
Like the name implies, these skis are great for slicing through all kinds of terrain. They handle well in anything from powder to boiler plate ice and everything in between. Want to do bumps? Works great. Want skis to do nice, leisurely groomers? Works too. Overall, this is the type of ski that I would recommend for most skiers on most days. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or expert skier, you really can’t go wrong. These are the one-size fits all skis! The terrain will have nothing on you!
The All Mountain skis that we offer to rent at American Ski Exchange:
Salomon Lux 92
Blizzard Bonafide
Nordica Enforcer 100
Volkl Deacon 84
Volkl Yumi
Salomon QST 106
Nordica Enforcer 93
Powder Skis
These are absolutely necessary for those days in Vail when we get FEET of snow overnight. Other skis just won’t do, you will be sinking and stuck. That is not fun for anyone. Trust me, I’ve been there. Due to their wider design, these skis are able to float over powder. It makes all the difference in the world.

Blizzard Black Pearl 88 – The #2 most frequently requested rental skis
Volkl Mantra M5
Carving Skis
For the intermediate to expert skier who is a former ski racer or just loves to use their edges. These are the ultimate skis to carve your S-shaped lines in perfectly groomed Vail corduroy. Skiing through groomed snow is like slicing through butter with these skis. They are the perfect skis for a blue bird groomer day.

K2 Anthem 72 TI HS
Atomic Vantage 90 Ti
K2 MindBender 99ti
Race Skis
The most familiar type of ski to me, I am a huge fan of race skis. There is a layer of comfort using these when you have a history of downhill or GS ski racing. These skis are great if you have a need for speed. However, I would only recommend this type of ski for someone who is an advanced intermediate to expert skiier. I historically have a love of Rossignol race skis – because that is what I grew up racing on. As a result, I love to try the new Rossi’s when they come out. Luckily, you can too! However, we do offer a lot of other great race skis from other companies. For the former ski racer who wants to shred down the mountain at high speeds, these are for you.
