The Higgins family welcomes you to our shop. In 1986 after a come to Jesus meeting with his father in law and knowing his first child was on the way, Tom Higgins (my dad) realized his dream of becoming a ski bum would have to evolve into becoming a ski shop owner. A few stressful months later American Ski Exchange was born with Tom and Jackie Higgins at helm.
40 years, four kids and two grandkids later the Higgins’ clan and American Ski Exchange are still going strong as one of Vail’s only family owned and operated shops. Tom has now moved into his role as Social Director while his son Jackson runs the show.
We pride ourselves on knowing our guests, fitting them in the latest gear, and sharing our knowledge of the mountain—whether it’s where to find fresh pow or the best place to cut some rug in your ski boots.
